Matt White is a former MLB player and the founder of Swift River Stone. As a young man, he was driven by pure, simple values. Matt spent his summers in high school baling hay on his grandfather's dairy farm. His upbringing was built on family loyalty, hard physical work, and a deep sense of community in his hometown in Berkshire County Massachusetts.
As he grew, Matt pursued his dream career in baseball, while being told by many that he wasn't good enough to make it to the majors. Not only did he become part of the .05% of high school seniors drafted into the minor leagues, he made it to the MLB, befriending the baseball legends of his childhood dreams.
For Matt, it felt as though one day he was watching the untouchables, the stars. The next, he was playing right beside them. Matt went on to spend the next 12 years playing professional baseball with 8 organizations in the United States, later moving to a contract in Japan, where he played for two years.
During 2007 spring training with the LA Dodgers, a world-wide news story broke, telling the masses that Matt had become an overnight multi-billionaire. Mainstream and sports media outlets like ESPN, Sports Illustrated, GQ, the New York Times and more caught wind that a piece of property Matt recently purchased had 24 million tons of valuable Goshen stone beneath it, valued at several billions of dollars. This story caused a whirlwind that took over Matt's life for the next several years.
After many lessons of raw grit and reality, redemption, and strength, Matt's new mission is to take the lessons he's learned and share with anyone who can use them.
